Carbon
fiber composites cover a wide range of layered and matrix
materials using woven carbon fiber, resins, plastics and can
also include thin layers of metals. Carbon fiber composites
are very difficult to machine because of the different physical
properties of the materials used in the layers that make composites
hard, tough and strong. Tool life can be very short in cutting
carbon fiber composites and machining a smooth surface that
leaves no dangling fibers are manufacturing problems that
can be overcome with use of DiaTiger® Diamond Coated tools.
